The Town of Stellarton’s  pdf Certificates of Recognition Policy (AD-019)(492 KB) outlines how the municipality formally celebrates significant milestones and community contributions. Adopted by Council on September 9, 2019, the policy ensures residents can request official recognition for meaningful life events and achievements.

Under this policy, the Town issues:

  • Anniversary Certificates for 50th wedding anniversaries and every five-year milestone thereafter.
  • Birthday Certificates for residents turning 80 and every five years beyond.
  • Welcome Certificates for families celebrating the birth or adoption of a child.
  • Community Recognition Certificates for individuals or groups who make significant contributions or achieve notable sports or community milestones.

All certificates are signed and presented by the Mayor or a member of Town Council and are issued upon request by citizens.

A request form is included with the policy, allowing residents to provide event details, mailing information, and indicate whether they would like the recognition shared on the Town’s social media platforms

This program reflects Stellarton’s commitment to recognizing and celebrating the people who make the community strong.
